Exploring Tarot
(Ongoing since 2024)
A personal journey of creativity and self-discovery inspired by lesser-known female artists of the surrealist movement like Remedios Varo, Leonora Carrington, and Dorothea Tanning.
My ultimate goal with this ongoing study is to investigate my own “inner space” by revisiting my past works and producing new, evolved pieces that blend personal interpretations of contemporary self-identity, femininity, magic, spirituality, and surrealism through the archetypal framework of tarot.

My role within the group involves researching, material sourcing, visual planning, and designing.
The chosen materials are sourced locally from second-hand stores, breathing new life into items that have been let go or discarded.
The details and portraits affixed to the objects are digitally created illustrations, and carefully applied with waterslide decals before being fired in the oven.

Examples from our most recent multi-object series, titled “It Started with A Tea Party” highlighting three figures of the women’s suffrage movement. The series debuted at Steeped (the 34th Annual Juried Exhibition at the Strathmore Mansion in Bethesda, MD in April 2026).
